Render Spooling - Custom

The Custom subpanel of the panel allows you to specify the names of your custom rendering and imagining programs for distribution by alfred. These settings apply only when you've selected custom in either the renderer or imager fields of the Job Setup panel.

Renderer - Specify the name of a custom renderer (any program which accepts the name of a RIB file as an argument). This renderer will be used if Custom is selected in the Renderer menu.

Rendering Service - Enter the name of a service for your custom renderer. Leaving this field blank will result in local execution of your rendering command with no host binding performed by alfred. To get alfred to do host binding, make sure that your alfred.services file contains the service indicated below and that your renderer command contains a %%h.

Rendering Tags - You can specify Alfred command tags used by your renderer here. Command tags are used by alfred to enforce global and local limits, as well as to accumulate job statistics. Please refer to Using Limits to Control Concurrent Launches for more information.

Rendering Metrics - Enter an Alfred string here.Alfred uses this string to select a host that offers a service that matches your custom service request.

Imager - In conjunction with setting the Imager setting in the Job Setup panel, this field allows you to specify the name of an Imager command which will be executed on final rendered frames with two arguments: the frame number and image filename. A standard custom imager is provided named: ratimager. You can use this imager to copy or display images that have been output on remote servers. (This is mainly useful if you're using an rdist based resource distribution mechanism.) The arguments to ratimager are sho and retrieve. ratimager sho will cause remotely computed images to be displayed in a window on your machine. (For this feature to work, you must have it already running on your machine.) ratimager retrieve will cause remotely computed images to be rcp-ed back to your machine. After the rcp, the remote images will be removed.

Imaging Service -The Imager Service is used in conjunction with the Image Command to pick a server for your Imager command. Leaving this field blank will result in local execution of your imager command with no host binding performed by Alfred. To get Alfred to do hist binding, make sure that your alfred.schedule file contains the service indicated here and that your Imager command contains a %h.

Imaging Tags - Enter a series of tags for the imaging command. These tags will be used by Alfred to enforce global or local execution limits defined in the alfred.ini file. Tags may also be used for statistics accumulation.

Pre-Render Command - is the name of a shell program which accepts the name of a RIB file as its argument. If the command is intended to modify the RIB file, like a RIB filter, it should overwrite the file. This option's scripting name is "customRenderer".

Pre-Rendering Serviceis used in conjunction with the Pre Render Command to pick a server for the command. Leaving this field black will result in local execution of the Pre Render command with no host binding performed by Alfred.

Pre-Rendering Tag - is an optional list of tags used by Alfred to enforce global or local execution limits defined in the alfred.ini file.

Pre-Rendering Metrics - Enter an Alfred string here.Alfred uses this string to select a host that offers a service that matches your custom service request.
